The second GCE-ELMINA Duathlon, Malaysia’s No. 1 duathlon on highway, has set a new record of 1,500 participants from 21 countries on 8 September 2019. Starting at City of Elmina, Shah Alam, the event featured a spectacular new route which improved the running experience and took participants through the latest architecture and landscape such as the latest Elmina West Bridge and Rainbow Walkway. To add to its uniqueness, the Guthrie Corridor Expressway was fully closed so participants could enjoy riding on this popular cycling route and push their endurance limits on the challenging terrains. This year’s event was also organised with a carnival concept approach, and opened to the general public to take part in various programmes such as a Fun Ride and a Fun Run, carnival activities such as pedal go-kart, rope obstacles, wall climbing, flying fox, zorb-ball and inflatable maze challenge.
The event was a collaboration between PROLINTAS Group of Companies and Sime Darby Property.
